EAST NORRITON, PA - In late 2020 Pep Boys parent company ICHAN Automotive announced they would be refocusing their efforts on the service sector of their business and would be shuttering many retail locations. The East Norriton Pep Boys has officially closed their parts department and only the service desk and bays remain.
We reached out to corporate after we asked an employee who stated they were unaware of what the future held for the now-shuttered section of the store. Pep Boys responded that the East Norriton location "is being converted to focus on providing just automotive service, including both maintenance and repair for individual customers and the area’s fast-growing fleets. This location will no longer sell retail parts and accessories as a Pep Boys, and will now be located next to a new retail partner, adding a new level of convenience to our customers.
Pep Boys has prepared to capture the strong demand for automotive service across the country by developing a national supply chain that will speed customer repairs and investing in technology to enhance the customer experience, from digital vehicle inspections to two-way texting and mobile pay. Pep Boys has also recommitted to its customers with a new brand promise: “We go further to help you go farther” and is celebrating its 100thyear in business in 2021."
We heard rumors of an agreement between Advance Auto Parts and Pep Boys that would convert the space, corporate has added "Please note the new retail partner is not an Advance Auto Parts."
