With election day tomorrow, alarms are already being raised by the Montgomery County Republican Committee after reports surfaced alleging Montgomery County is pre-screening mail-in ballots in conflict with current Pennsylvania Voting Laws. The controversy is over the use of a pre-screening machine where ballots can be scanned before being opened and flagged for possible rejection due to missing secrecy envelops, or missing signatures. The letter then alleges voters who filed the rejected ballots are then being given a chance to come back and fix their ballot so it can be counted correctly.
The letter below explains, other counties are not doing this pre-screen and therefore Montgomery County voters are being given an unfair advantage over other counties in the Commonwealth. Voting law requires these ballots to not be touched until 7 am on Election day.
