Local Business Owner Arrested in Plymouth Sexual Assult Case


PLYMOUTH MEETING - On July 23, 2020, the Plymouth Township Police Department initiated an investigation into the sexual assault of a juvenile at the Artisan Nails, 201 Ridge Pike, Plymouth Township. As a result of this investigation, a criminal complaint was filed against the owner of Artisan Nails, James Kit VONG, on November 4, 2020 charging him with the following violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code:


18 PACC 3125(a)(1): Aggravated Indecent Assault

18 PACC 3125(a)(8): Aggravated Indecent Assault; Victim is less than 16 years of age

18 PACC 6318(a)(1): Unlawful Contact with a Minor

18 PACC 6301(a)(1)(ii): Corruption of Minors

18 PACC 3126(a)(1): Indecent Assault


On November 4, 2020, James Kit VONG was arrested in the City of Philadelphia. At his preliminary arraignment, VONG was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000.00 cash bail. On December 1, 2020, a preliminary hearing was held before the Honorable District Judge Francis Bernhardt. District Justice Bernhardt held all charges for County Court and VONG’s bail remains at $250,000.00 cash. He is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.


In addition to his business at Artisan Nails, Plymouth Township, VONG has known associations in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. As a result of this investigation, it is possible that there are additional victims of VONG that have not been identified.
