PLYMOUTH MEETING - Facebook was abuzz Tuesday as helicopters hovered over the powerlines throughout Whitpain and Plymouth Townships as people sought answers about what was going on. Well, file this under things that normally happen while people are at work.
PECO, like most utility companies, completes periodic inspections of the high powerlines to help ensure service reliability. The crew will use infrared cameras to meticulously inspect all transmission wires for signs of defect.
Plymouth Police even saw an increase in inquires so they issued a notice on their Facebook page seen below.
As a reminder, if you have a PECO emergency please contact 1-800-841-4141, they are there 24 X 7 X 365. The aerial inspections are expected to take place over the coming days.
