Germantown Pike Crash Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - Plymouth Township Police released the following statement on today's fatal car crash at the intersection of Virginia Drive and Germantown Pike.


On March 22, 2022 at 8:49am, The Plymouth Township Police, along with Fire and EMS

personnel, were dispatched to the intersection of Germantown Pike and Virginia Road for a

motor vehicle crash with entrapment and fire. Officers arriving on scene found a three-vehicle crash. As a result of this accident, three people were injured and the operator of one of the vehicles was deceased.


Two of the injured persons were transported by Plymouth Community Ambulance Association to Jefferson Abington Hospital. A third injured person was transported to Chestnut Hill Hospital – Tower Health by Whitemarsh Community Ambulance Association.

All three persons transported to the Hospital sustained non-life-threatening injuries.


The identity of the operator who died as a result of this crash is not being released pending

notification of the next of kin.


The Harmonville Fire Company and Plymouth Fire Company provided support and hazard

control on the crash scene.


At this time, the Plymouth Township Police Department’s Highway Patrol Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate the cause of this fatal crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Plymouth Township Police Department at 610-279-1901.
