EAST NORRITON - With an eye toward STEM education, local husband and wife entrepreneurs Lavanya and Prakash of the Prakash Family are engineers who have nearly 20 years of experience in Information Technology currently living in NJ. They stumbled upon Code Ninjas while exploring options to introduce their own kids to STEM-based extracurricular activities and will launch the karate based Code Ninjas franchise this spring.
Code Ninjas for Kids age 7-14 can learn to code in a topnotch nonintimidating fun environment. The kids learn scripting languages like JavaScript, LUA, C#, robotics and more as they progress from a white belt to purple under the guidance of their "Sensei". Kids can attend twice a week for 1 hr at a flexible time anytime the "Dojo" is open. Classes will take place at the "Dojo", located at 65 E Germantown Pike, in the Norriton Square shopping center, the former location of Dickey's BBQ.
When asked what made them choose East Norriton for Code Ninjas, Lavanya said: "We are just so impressed with the potential within the Norristown school district as well as all of the other surrounding districts we saw the immense potential in the kids. We cannot wait to work with the students."
Code Ninjas will offer a 1:5 Student to Sensei ratio and they are now hiring. When discussing the open positions, Lavanya added: "This is a great job for High School students who are interested in STEM and Technology. We look forward to hiring and training the best and brightest to help make the curriculum come alive for our students."
Code Ninjas is currently under construction with a planned soft opening in mid-March or early-April. STEM-focused summer camps which include, Roblox, Robotics, Minecraft, and Scratch story telling are currently registering with large discounts for "founding families" and are expected to fill fast.
