Plymouth Police Chief Myrsiades held two session at the Plymouth Fire Company on Wednesday September 25 to meet with residents and provide an overview of his vision going forward for the police department. Chief Myrsiades presented his slide show based on the method of 21st century policing and provided just a glimpse of what the deportment does and what they are looking to expand on in the future. The presentation had a theme of diversity, inclusion, training and intervention.
Each of the 2 session were attended by approximately 20+ residents as well as members of Plymouth Council. After the presentation, residents were encouraged to provide feedback and concerns. Topics of the discussions ranged from traffic concerns and what could be done, to scams local residents have fallen victim to and how to better educate and interact with residents. One long-time Plymouth resident mentioned she had no idea the Plymouth Police Department was this involved in the community.
If you missed this round of meetings, you have one more chance to attend. Chief Myrsiades will be meeting with residents on Tuesday October 1 at the Greater Plymouth Community center at 2p and 7p. All are encouraged to attend at least one meeting. Join the Facebook group @talkinplymouth to see the event invite.
