Construction Underway on Upgraded Playground in Plymouth

Construction underway on 8/4/2022

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - Construction is underway at East Plymouth Valley Park (902 Germantown Pike) to upgrade the playground equipment. The upgrade will bring a new, larger, playground aimed at expanding access to more children.

The construction is made possible by a grant which was announced in April of 2021. Plymouth Township received $250,000 through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Act 13 Program. This grant was part of a larger 900,000 grant benefitting both Plymouth and Wissahickon. You can read the full press release here.

“An investment in infrastructure that supports the well-being, safety, and inclusion of our community members goes further than building curb ramps and installing new playground equipment. It helps us shape spaces that offer a true sense of community and belonging.” State Senator Amanda Cappelletti said.

Karen Bramblett, Council At-Large added, "Construction began on August 3 to revamp and reconstruct an inclusive playground at the EPV Park, which will create opportunities for children of all abilities. Construction is expected to be completed in about a month."

The playground at East Plymouth Valley Park is the most used equipment in the Township according to the Parks and Rec Department. This is the second large upgrade this year at East Plymouth Valley Park. In the spring, Plymouth Little League self-funded a new covered batting cage facility.
