53 Homes, Digital Billboard Seeking Approval, First Meeting February 11 Meeting



WHITPAIN - Official plans have been submitted requesting permission to build 53 single homes and install a digital billboard on the site of the now-shuttered Mermaid Lake. The homes would sit on both sides of Arch Road.


The process to seek approval for the 53 homes kicks off with a hearing before the Whitpain planning commission on February 11, 2020, at 7:30p. You can view the agenda here. Preliminary site plans have been submitted ahead of the meeting, you can view the plan here. The meeting will take place at the Whitpain Township building.


A second submission has been made for code approval to add a digital billboard on the space which was the gravel parking lot for Mermaid. These digital billboards bring in good steady money for landlords but are so bright often have a hard time getting approved. You can view the proposal for the billboard here. The conditional use of the Billboard is up for discussion during the meeting on March 17, 2020.
